With a special interest in dermatology and endocrinology, Dr. Adams has extensive experience treating conditions like thyroid illnesses, Cushing’s disease and diabetes. She excels at managing multiple chronic illnesses in pets, balancing their needs to improve quality of life. Her approach goes beyond just treating symptoms—she considers the whole pet, including behavioral and social factors, particularly in cases like feline inappropriate urination. She is also deeply committed to palliative and end-of-life care, working closely with families to ensure pets remain comfortable and that everyone involved is on the same page about quality-of-life decisions. She especially strives to develop and maintain a long-term relationship with her patients and their owners.
Dr. Adams is the owner of Seacoast Animal Health Center. She grew up in the rural Central Valley in Merced, CA. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in biology. Then she attended the University of California, Davis where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1997. Dr. Adams moved to San Diego shortly after and has been living in San Marcos with her family since 2003. She has been practicing in North County for over 20 years and especially loves the community in San Marcos–you will often find her running, hiking, or camping in the beautiful coastal weather. Dr. Adams’ dog and multitude of cats allow their home to be shared with her husband and two daughters.
